Class Fee is $225 per person
Must be strong swimmer, attend all dates and times, complete and pass prerequisites testing, online portion and written exam to receive certification.

The Lifeguarding course will provide lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) personnel take over. Upon successful completion participants will receive American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED which is valid for 2 years. A portion of this course must be completed online. Online link will be sent approximately 2 weeks prior to the start of the course. Participant must attend all dates and times, complete and pass prerequisites testing, online portion and written exam to receive certification.
Prerequisites are as follows:
- Be at least 15 years old
- Swim 150 yards, Tread water for 2 minutes, and swim 50 yards back to the starting point. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke, or a combination of both.
- Complete a timed brick retrieval event: within 1 minute, 40 seconds: Swim 20 yards. Surface dive, to a depth of 12 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object. Return to the surface. Swim back to the starting point with both hands holding the object and keeping the face at or near the surface. Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.
