All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to the Camp Director. Cancellations submitted by the deadline will be refunded according to the timeline below. No refunds will be issued for requests submitted the week of camp without a physician’s note for illness or injury.

Zero Tolerance:
WCPARC Camps have a zero tolerance policy towards physical violence of any nature. Incidents involving any type of violent act will result in a meeting with camp administration, and disciplinary suspension, possibly including an expulsion from camp. I understand that my child will be expected to comply with the established guidelines for camp, which require children to refrain from using any foul language, hitting, biting, and or using threats, etc.

Camp Big Heart was established in 1983 by the Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission to provide a meaningful summer experience for young people ages 13-30 with moderate cognitive impairment.
Camp begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. Activities, designed for most any age, include crafts, nature projects, sports, music, drama and special events. Campers should bring their own lunch & drink. Personal toileting ability is required. The ratio of staff to campers is 3:1. Transportation is not provided. Registration is limited to 24 campers. PLAYGROUND CAMP - WEST WILLOW LOCATION (2345 TYLER RD., YPSILANTI, MI 48197), FEATURES GROUP GAMES, CRAFTS, NATURE PROGRAMS, WEEKLY THEMES AND PLENTY OF OUTDOOR SUMMER FUN.

EASTSIDE CAMP - SUGARBROOK LOCATION (1375 SOUTH HARRIS RD., YPSILANTI, MI 48197), FEATURES GROUP GAMES, CRAFTS, NATURE PROGRAMS, WEEKLY THEMES AND PLENTY OF OUTDOOR SUMMER FUN.

NINE, ONE-WEEK SESSIONS ARE AVAILABLE AND LIMTED TO 30 CAMPERS EACH WEEK. PAYMENT PLANS ARE AVAILABLE. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN A PAYMENT PLAN YOU WILL NEED TO REGISTER THROUGH THE REGISTRATION FORM, NOT ONLINE. REGISTRATION BEGINS MARCH 15TH AT NOON.

INDEPENDENCE LAKE SUMMER DAY CAMP FEATURES:
GAMES, CRAFTS, PLAYGROUND VISITS, NATURE PROGRAMS, FISHING, SWIMMING, SPRAY PARK VISITS, AND PLENTY OF OUTDOOR SUMMER FUN. DEPENDING ON WEATHER, STAFFING AND AVAILABILITY OF EQUIPMENT, KAYAKING AND ARCHERY MAY ALSO BE AVAILABLE. EACH WEEK WILL HAVE A THEME. GAMES, CRAFTS AND NATURE PROGRAMS WILL CENTER AROUND THE THEME OF THE WEEK.

Cancellations

30 days or more prior to the start of camp a 75% refund will be issued.
29 days through 7 days prior to the start of camp a 25% refund will be issued.
6 days through 1 day prior to the start of camp a 0% refund will be issued.
No refunds will be issued the week of camp without a physician's note for illness or injury.
